Scope of Services

Mission 08 Moving provides comprehensive moving services, including packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and optional storage, exclusively for intrastate and interstate moves within the US. Services are tailored based on your quote and may include additional options like specialty item handling or insurance upgrades.

1. Service Agreement: All services are subject to a binding estimate or contract provided after an assessment. Non-binding estimates are approximations and may adjust based on actual weight, volume, or unforeseen circumstances.
2. Exclusions: We do not transport hazardous materials, perishables, valuables, or prohibited items (refer to our separate policy). International moves or services outside the US are not covered.

Booking and Payment Terms

To secure your move, advance planning is recommended.

1. Reservations: Bookings require a deposit of 25% of the estimated cost, which is non-refundable but credited toward the final bill. Confirmations are sent via email or in writing.
2. Payments: Full payment is due upon delivery unless otherwise arranged. Acceptable methods include credit cards (with a 3% fee), checks, or cash. Late payments incur a 1.5% monthly interest. All prices are in USD and exclude taxes unless specified.
3. Changes and Cancellations: Modifications to dates or services must be requested 10 days in advance. Cancellations 7 days or less before the move forfeit the deposit. Force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters) may allow rescheduling without penalty.

Liability and Insurance

We handle your belongings with care, but understanding coverage is key.

1. Basic Liability: Standard coverage is Released Value Protection at $0.60 per pound per article, as per FMCSA regulations. This is included at no extra cost but limited.
2. Enhanced Options: Full Value Protection is available for purchase, covering repair, replacement, or reimbursement (with deductibles starting at $100). Declare high-value items in advance.
3. Client-Packed Items: We are not liable for damage to items packed by you unless negligence is proven. Pre-existing damage must be noted during inventory.
4. Claims Process: Report damages within 30 days of delivery. Provide photos, descriptions, and receipts. Resolutions are handled per federal guidelines, with disputes subject to arbitration.

Client Responsibilities

Your cooperation ensures efficiency.

1. Preparation: Ensure access to properties, obtain permits (e.g., parking), and prepare items for transport. Disclose special needs like stairs or elevators.
2. Safety: Keep children, pets, and valuables secure during operations. Smoking or hazardous activities are prohibited on-site.
3. Inventory: A detailed bill of lading will be created; review and sign it to confirm accuracy.

Additional Provisions

1. Storage: If elected, storage is at our secure facilities with monthly fees. Access requires notice; we are not liable for long-term environmental damage.
2. Delays: While we aim for timely service, delays due to weather, traffic, or mechanical issues are not compensable. We provide updates as needed.
3. Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the originating state and federal regulations. Amendments must be in writing.
